About QuantumEye

Cameras shouldn't just record.
They should act.

QuantumEye is a UK-built AI platform that turns retail cameras from passive evidence into active protection, without crossing the lines retail can't cross. Built for store managers, by people who've watched too much footage after the fact.

Sam Erpik, QuantumEye CTO, in conversation with a prospect at a UK retail industry exhibition, in front of a branded backdrop reading 'More Than Security' and 'How It Works'.
Why it matters

UK retailers lost £2.2bn to theft in 2023/24, across 20.4 million incidents (BRC). That footage only ever gets watched after the loss. Closing that gap, with a real-time alert before the loss leaves the store and a human reviewing every event, is the problem QuantumEye was built for.

Why we exist

Retail security got stuck reviewing the past.

Every UK retailer has cameras. Most of them are used the same way they were used 20 years ago, as a recording medium reviewed after something goes wrong. AI changes that, but only if it's applied honestly: with humans in the loop, with vectors stored separately, with data residency that doesn't disappear into a US cloud. That's the gap we built into.

01

Active, not passive

Detection happens in real time, on the edge, on the camera that captured it. The alert lands before the cashier looks up.

02

Operator-grade, not pilot-grade

Built for estates, not for demos. Mature RBAC, append-only audit, regression-tested write paths.

03

GDPR-honest, not GDPR-adjacent

Human-in-the-loop is mandatory. Vectors live separately from video. False-alarm clips are anonymised. The architecture is the policy.

The shape of what we ship

One platform. Eight modules. Built for the floor.

We don't sell hardware. We don't sell a dashboard for a back office. We sell the platform that lets a store manager run their store from a phone, protecting and operating at the same time.

GUARD

Shoplifting · Face Recognition · Safety · After-Hours

The four Guard modules. Real-time detection, evidence-grade output, human-reviewed before any action.

PULSE

Analytics · Heatmaps · Whitelist · Reports

The four Pulse modules. Same cameras, second job, turning every store into an operations brain.

ESTATE

One regional brain

Estate-wide watchlist, regional brief, cross-store BI. Built so 50 stores feel like one.

The people

A small, focused team. Engineers, designers, retail operators.

We deliberately keep the team small and the surface area sharp. The same people who write the code talk to the customers, there is no 'we'll pass that to product' layer.

Founder · CTO

“We started QuantumEye because every retailer we spoke to had the same conversation: ‘We have all this footage, and we only ever look at it after something's gone wrong.’ That's a solvable problem. We solved it.”

In the field

Where we show up.
